WHAT TO EXPECT

THE SUMMIT is a grueling 3-day experience that will challenge every man: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. THE SUMMIT is not for every man—only those willing to push themselves to their limit… and then a little further.
Every SUMMIT event is different and presents new challenges for attendees. So all attendees can be prepared for what THE SUMMIT includes, below is an overview of Turning Point USA’s first-ever SUMMIT event in Montana in August 2022.
Overview
In August 2022, twenty men set out on a journey to discover true masculinity and the role it plays in their lives and society. This journey covered more than 50 miles over 3 days across Montana’s grass ranges, rolling hills, and steep mountains. The men were relieved of all technology from before the journey began. The men were allowed minimal sleep and minimal food. They were deprived of everyday comforts for the entire experience.
For three days, these twenty men were tasked with demanding physical evolutions rooted in becoming a strong man, a capable teammate, and a servant leader. These men struggled through tiredness, hunger, discomfort, muscular strain, blisters, bumps, and bruises.
They also received training in emotional intelligence, journaling/prayer, relationships, morality, virtue, truth, and man’s pursuit of purpose.
The journey pushed them to their physical, mental, and spiritual limits—and not one quit. They adapted, grew, and thrived. They became real men.
Day 1
4:00 AM wake up.
4-mile hike with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet.
At the peak, the men engaged in physical activities and classes on responsibility, accountability, and self-care.
4-mile hike back to base camp, concluding with an ice bath.
Day 2
4:00 AM wake up.
4-mile hike with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet—this time with a full pack of gear.
At the peak, the men engaged in physical activities, classes, and team-building.
In the evening, the men were sent into the woods to build shelters with the gear in their packs and what they could use in the forest. This required use of the skills taught on days 1 and 2, including knot tying and shelter building.
The night included considerable wind, rain, and storms.
Day 3
4:00 AM wake up and sunrise journaling.
10-mile hike up and over the mountain with full packs.
Dinner, prayer, and fellowship.
Twenty men arrived in Montana up with a variety of the world’s misplaced views of masculinity. They left as brothers challenged to be men of action.
